| Martin Taffe, founder of Martooni's Bartenders & Wait Staff, was born in Bavaria, then called West Germany. His mother's family owned and operated a Gasthaus and Bier Stube (restaurant and bar) in a little town called Auerbach, where he began helping out at the age of six. The food and beverage industry is in his blood! |
| Since his father was in the U.S. Military, Martin spent time in Germany and other places around the world. In fact, Martin continues this tradition of world travel and has visited over 30 countries. |
| Later, when attending school in the US, he would continue work in the restaurant industry. “I put myself through college in the 80's by bartending and waiting tables in Fell's Point; as well as at the Westview Lounge and Turf Valley Country Club.” |
| Following college, Martin spent a number of years in the corporate world. However, he quickly found it did not suit his personality. "I need to be on my feet; moving and in the thick of bustling activity." He decided to return to the food and beverage industry. |
| Once back in the business, it became apparent that this was where Martin belonged. After receiving a number of requests from satisfied clients for his services and staff at other special events, he saw an opportunity to create a company. He took this opportunity and employed an outstanding bar and wait staff in a growing industry. That was in 1999. |
| Since then, Martooni’s has continued to grow and make friends in the Baltimore/DC metro areas as a result of our outstanding service at private parties, corporate functions, and many other venues. Our repeat customers are the ultimate compliment to our services! The highlight of 2009 was being awarded the contract to staff 150 Bartenders for the 134th running of The Preakness Stakes at Pimlico Race Track. |

| Why the name Martooni's? |

| “Martooni” was a nickname given to Martin by friends in the Boston area while serving in the Coast Guard, due to his penchant for the concoction of a very similar name, Martini. When asked about his nickname, Martin said “I had no idea it would have legs lasting into three decades.” |
